Later transition to the new pension scheme

The aim was to have the new pension scheme come into effect on 1 January 2026. Unfortunately, this will not be possible. We will explain why.

More time needed before we can make the transition

We have come a long way, but we are not quite ready to switch to the new pension scheme yet. A careful transition requires a lot of preparation. The assessment of our plans by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) is taking extra time. We are currently investigating what the new target start date will be. As soon as we know more about a new date, we will inform you as soon as possible.

What does this mean for you?

You do not need to do anything. Everything will remain the same for the time being, at least until the new date of transition to the new pension scheme. We will continue to implement the current pension scheme as we do now. This also means that, if possible, we will increase pensions as of 1 January 2026 based on the price increase in 2025 (period between 1 November 2024 and 31 October 2025). Our board will decide in December whether we can increase pensions and by how much.

Do you also accrued a pension capital at ABN AMRO?

In addition to your pension with Provisum, you could also have accrued a pension capital with ABN AMRO through the Top-up and/or Voluntary Supplementary pension scheme. We are also not able to transfer this capital to the new pension scheme yet. This capital will therefore remain with ABN AMRO. They will continue to invest this capital, as they do now.

Do you follow the pension fund's investment mix (the default)? Due to the limited services provided by ABN AMRO, they will no longer adjust the investment mix to your age. This was last done at the end of 2024. Your pension capital will therefore continue to be invested according to your current investment mix, which is based on your age at the end of 2024. If you are 45 or older, you will therefore invest slightly more in shares and real estate in 2026 than is specified in the standard investment mix for your age category.

Have you made your own investment choices? If so, you will no longer be able to adjust these investment choices. The investment mixes and choices are therefore fixed until the transition to the new pension scheme. ABN AMRO informed you about this in November 2024.

Distribution of Provisum’s current Assets also postponed

With the planned transition on 1 January 2026, we would also distribute our current fund assets. We are postponing this, as it can only be done once we have switched to the new scheme.

We will keep you informed via the website and the digital newsletter, het Pensioenbericht, and will let you know as soon as more information is available.
