When will my new pension scheme come into effect?

In 2021, a working group with representatives of employees and employers was established to assess the new legislation as it developed. Following the enactment of the new pension law, this working group has been considering new arrangements and their implementation. Work continues on the development of the transition plan, and the current expectation is that the new pension arrangements will be in place by 1 January 2026. Then we will also know what the new pension scheme means for you personally.

We still have a lot to do before your new pension scheme comes into effect. There are two main steps:

Step 1: Decision-making process: Employers and employees involved in the pension fund (including C&A and the C&A Works Council) consult and jointly determine the content of your new pension scheme;

Step 2: Implementation process: We enter your new pension scheme into the pension administration. Only after we have done this we can tell you what your new pension scheme means for you personally.
