After a sneak preview of the research results in the previous Pensioenbericht, we promised to go into the results in more detail and share the report with you. The results of the survey help us to communicate clearly about the new pension scheme. And they help us to determine where we should focus on.
1,204 people took the trouble to complete the Pensioenbarometer survey. In the report, we distinguish between the answers of employees, ex-employees (in the report these are called slapers) and pensioners.
General conclusion
Just over half of you know that new rules are coming. You are certainly interested, but you are also vigilant, feel powerless or worried when you think about the new pension rules. The main reason for this is mainly unfamiliarity and not having a choice. Nevertheless, there is a great deal of confidence in Provisum. A large majority finds the information understandable, honest and clear. You do miss information about your own situation: what will my pension be in the new pension scheme? Unfortunately, we can only answer that question just before the transition to the new pension scheme.
Knowledge, sentiment and communication
The questions can be roughly divided into three topics. What do you know about the new pension rules (knowledge)? What do you think of the new pension rules (sentiment)? And do you understand the information and do you know where to go to with your questions (communication)?
Knowledge
Pensioners know better than (former) employees that there are new pension rules and what those rules entail. In general, you think you know less than others about the upcoming transition to the new pension scheme. Most people do not know that pensions will no longer be increased with price inflation. You also do not know that the contribution will no longer depend on age.
Sentiment
You understand reasonably well why new pension rules were necessary. You are interested in the new rules, but also concerned. Few people are hopeful, satisfied or reassured. Knowledge about the new pension rules contributes to more positive feelings. Most people think that Provisum will ensure a smooth transition to the new pension scheme. Pensioners often expect their pension to be higher in the future.
Communication
The vast majority of people have seen information from Provisum about the new pension scheme. You find this information understandable and honest. You prefer to receive information about the new pension scheme digitally. Some of you still prefer a letter by post. Pensioners know better where to ask their questions.
